‘Salicale’ Salice Salentino Rosso D.O.P. Riserva 75cl (2016) LE VIGNE DI SAMMARCO

The vineyard is situated in Cellino San Marco (), a municipality located in the province of Brindisi (BARI) in the Apulia region of southern Italy. It is known for its favorable climate and soil conditions, perfect for grape cultivation. The area's rich viticultural tradition contributes to the production of high-quality wines, especially those from the Salice Salentino appellation. The grapes used to produce Salice Salentino Rosso Riserva undergo crushing and destemming, followed by maceration with the skins for approximately 5-8 days. After soft pressing, fermentation concludes in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Malolactic fermentation takes place in Allier oak barriques. Ageing occurs in a combination of stainless steel and barrique. Bright and deep ruby red. On the nose the fruity notes of blackberry jam and dried figs stand out, followed by a bouquet of withered roses and violets. The finish distinguishes blonde tobacco leaves from hints of leather and sweet spices. A complex taste reveals the absolute balance between softness, tannins, freshness and flavour. The persistent and long finish characterises this Riserva of Salice Salentino. Recommended Serving Temperature: 18°C.
