‘Piaggia’ Carmignano Riserva D.O.C.G. 75cl (2020) PIAGGIA

Piaggia's flagship wine, the result of very rigorous selection of grapes grown on their oldest vineyard which are able to produce wines of the highest quality, enhancing the peculiarities of the Denomination to the max. Carefully hand-harvested and vinified in small containers, followed by fermentation with select yeasts and skin contact between 18-28 days, including punching and pumping-over, the wine is then transferred to French oak barriques where malolactic fermentation occurs and matures for at least 18 months before finally being bottled without filtration or clarification where the wine refines for a minimum of 6 months. Although traditional, this is a modern interpretation of Carmignano, a wine extremely cared for in every small detail: nothing is left to chance both in the vineyard and in the cellar in order to offer all the emotion and splendor of the land. What's more, it is capable of aging for many years while maintaining its organoleptic qualities, cheering the tables of the most demanding consumers worldwide. Deep, intense ruby red, with an almost impenetrable colour. Ripe fruit, cassis and raspberries, embellished with elegant hints of tobacco, chocolate and sweet spices. Enveloping, with great structure and elegance, with excellent quality tannins which make it particularly suitable for long-term ageing.
